Pieces of an Ungrafted Love


This project was my first experience of hand-binding a short publication. The collected poems, all of which had been contributed anonymously by a friend, were printed onto tracing paper prior to stitching. The final effect was of reading the poems as though in a mist, with snatches of words and lines peeking through each page from behind, and each layer of text rewriting the ones above.

A copy of the document can be accessed through the link below. However, the photo to the right provides a better impression of the finished piece, as the tactile, palimpsestic effect of the tracing paper is impossible to replicate in a PDF.
