Matches began as a student poetry zine in March 2018 and ran for seven issues until March 2019.  In June of 2021 I decided to revive the zine for another edition. I contacted friends from America, Canada, Denmark, England, Norway, Scotland and Slovenia, asking them to contribute whatever they wished, whether it was a poem, a review or a piece of visual art.

The resulting publication showed an emphasis on themes of loss, isolation and ecology – concerns which marked the period of the pandemic and its aftermath.
